The “Unfold” collective presented at the ICA showcases 11 of Irelands designers unveiling their SS16 collections featuring : NATALIEBCOLEMAN, We Are Islanders, Emma Manley, Jill de Burca, Helen Steele, Honor Fitzsimons, Chupi, Maria Dorai Raj, Laura Kinsella, Martha Lynn and Capulet & Montague. A wonderful mix of SS16 womens wear, millinery and jewellery, this has been a long awaited addition to the on-schedule shows.
The makeup was inspired by the raw natural beauty of Irelands wild landscape, with the unexpected bright hues that spring bring to the fore. Keeping the skin as natural as possible we prepped the skin using Dermalogica cleanser & toner and finished with Active Moist lotion. For skins prone to oiliness an additional mattifier was applied, so that the raw skin would remain fresh throughout the show.
Any blemishes or darkness were concealed using a light touch from the Bobbi Brown universal palette. Lucas Paw Paw on the lip & brows both patted down to reduce the sheen. Barely-there mascara just to define the roots and the rest, skin bare. Eyes were the focus. Taking 2 graphic liners in bold pink, orange, blue and/or green created an editorial feel to the look. Taking bright shadow & mixing with Inglot Duraline to make a thick paste. “Painted on” deliberately, undone lines created focus and interest, colours being carefully chosen to complimentary clash with the fashion worn by each model.
