Steven Tai – London Fashion week SS16

Steven Tai’s SS16 collection paid tribute to the awkward girl at school by telling her story albeit with a spot of sarcastic humour and his ever present signature touch of fun. There was a culotte trouser suit to a silver, semi-transparent organza circular skirt with smock detailing and butterfly detailing. Tai deliberately chose to not jump on the geek chic bandwagon which seems to be very en trend at the moment but instead embraces the awkwardness that is ever present within the academic world. Shades of blue, yellow and pink were the primary colours, designed with structural geometry and layered soft touches of lace and ribbon. For the makeup by our amazing graduates the skin was left as natural as possible which is very evident in the photos, concealer was pinpointed as necessary. There was a warm peach pop on the apple of the cheek and a warm peach was used on the eyes. On the lips a clear lip gloss was used and clear mascara on the brows.
