Here in Milan today, we rejoined Oxford Fashion Studio for the third out of four installations of our joint journey throughout fashion week, this being the third season we have worked with OFS, and the third city this season, our graduate team knew exactly what to expect from today’s long day of shows.
Oxford Fashion Studio is a global fashion project that showcases designers from all over the world, giving them a platform to be seen by the worlds fashion press against gorgeous backdrops in each of the fashion Capitals. The location of todays show was the opulent Hôtel Principe di Savoia, located right by the famous Piaza Del Duomo, the centre point of Milan.
Each of the OFS showcases are a whole days worth of shows, with morning call times and then doing shows and presentations at 1pm, 3pm, 5pm and finishing with one final show at 7pm. Some of the changes between shows are minor, some are full face changes, meaning that the grads are kept on the toes from the get go. Each shows look being collaboratively agreed on by the designers and the key artist. Each of the shows can showcase anywhere up to 6 designers, so the backstage atmosphere can feel a little hectic at times. 60 models running around, hair teams, stylists, desginers and our graduate teams! busy busy busy!
With the day finished, our grads were more than happy to be heading back to their hotels for some well-deserved rest!
