With her roots firmly placed in Wales, Jayne Pierson’s eccentric designs and unusual prints make full use of the resources available to her in Wales, using Welsh tapestry artists to add the detail to her garments, Pierson brings a fresh concept to London Fashion Week and we were delighted to join her again this season for her SS19 Runway show. This season Jayne’s model selection was massively diverse, using trans models, models of all different ages and races, from all over the world. It was an exciting opportunity for our graduates to adapt the look that was demonstrated by the lead artist when they arrived to suit all of these different skin tones and textures.
Once the look was demonstrated there was no time for the grads to waste, working through 14 models with a team of 5 artists in 3 hours. The look for the day was one of classic simplicity, gorgeous skin, defined eye and a red lip. lovely!
The venue for today was the Conde Nast building, right in the heart of Soho, once the fashionistas from around the city had arrived for the 6pm show time, the building was buzzing with excitement to see Pierson’s vision of the coming season in Fashion.
