Ermanno Scervino is an old favourite of ours, we work with them backstage every season in Milan and this one was no exception. Ermanno Scervino’s roots are Italian through and through and astonishingly, he is completely self-taught, starting off in Florence, Italy before spreading his wings and spending time in New York, London & Ibiza, it is from these Iconic destinations that he still draws the inspirations from to the modern day tailoring of his collections.
A very early start today for the graduates, needing to be backstage at 6:30, the grads were up at 5 and out the door by 6 with only the freshness of January in Milan to wake them up as they dreamed of coffee and jumped into the backs of multiple taxi’s. The show was to be held in Ermanno Scervino’s very own showroom in the heart of Milan’s fashion district, he mixed aspects of both a presentation and a runway show with a cast of 18 male models, the collection reflecting his instantly recognisable tailoring with playful hints of leopard print and bright neon check’s.
The looks were pretty standard for men’s week, fresh lovely skin. So, after a briefing from the key artist, the grads were given a leisurely amount of time to work their way through the model cast. Once they were all ready and dressed they walked a runway for the press before going to their places and staying there for 90 minutes for the press to get a really good look at the collection.
