Club-kid turned makeup artist, creating through the fantastical and experimental ways makeup can be used. My take on makeup is that it should be brave; should push the creative boundaries and be something unique to you and your imagination. This means I’ve had many opportunities to give my own perspective stamp on music videos, performances and concerts where individuality is key. The shoots I create for also require their creative narrative; it needs to speak without words. Being able to fine tune the creativity for different projects is a matter of ‘volume’. My makeup ‘loudness’ plays well for artistic projects with big creative briefs where I can build the character from head to toe. For the quieter briefs I still play with whimsy for things such as catwalk or more minimal editorials. Wherever my brush is required I aim to paint the normal into the unusual.
