AOFM Fashion Party
The Academy Of Freelance Make Up (AOFM to those in the know) Party was the talk of the town. The Academy held its annual fashion party in the entire ground floor of the exclusive Bar 49, in Soho. As the Champagne was flowing, the party was packed wall to wall with stylists, designers, models and waiters stripped to the waist, body-painted in AOFM’s signature logo, serving refreshments and canapés. Also present were the most successful recent graduates of AOFM - many of whom have very promising careers ahead of them if the standard of body-painting and make-up on display is anything to go by.
The creativity shown by one graduate was worthy of a place on any catwalk - a beautiful female saxophonist was made up but not in the usual, heavy gloss " water proof " make-up - oh no, this musical artiste was decorated between the eyes and the forehead with beautiful, colourful feathers and diamantes and beads patterned across her face.
The back wall of the bar was more like a gallery for the night, showcasing images of recent work by both tutors and students. The chocolate fountain was a great success - I was not in the least surprised to see all of the exotic fruit was left for second helpings in favour of marshmallow, nuts and pastries.
Following a series of presentations and rapturous applause (I note that by this time the bounty of exotic fruits had been devoured after being dipped in rich chocolate from the fountain) it was a fantastic night for me and the crowd who continued dancing away into the small hours..............
